Did you sign up for the course or module?

(Note: Before you can see the catalogue, you must open an account & sign in!)
Sign up using the course catalog

  3. You were on your "Achievements" page, and clicked "Details".

"Next" Button

When you complete an end of course quiz,
and it says that you can download the Certificate,
make sure you click on the "Next" button.

This will finalize the course.

Otherwise, the program thinks you have not completed the last step towards receiving your Certificate.
And because it thinks you haven't completed the last step, it will refuse to give you your Certificate.

Name on Certificate

  • Your "Formal Name" is printed on the certificate.
  • You can change your "Formal Name" by editing your Settings.

How to edit your settings

  1. Login to your account.
  2. In the big black bar at the top of the site, go to the right-hand end.
  3. Click on the “person” icon.
  4. In the drop-down menu, click on “Settings.”
  5. Scroll down the resulting page until you find the “Formal Name” field.
  6. Fill it in with your name exactly as you want it on your certificate.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “save.”
  8. You are done.

WCSAP Courses

  • In this system a "Course" is made up of multiple "Modules"
    • Both "Modules" and "Courses" are "Trainings"
  • The following are WCSAP Courses
    • Advocate Core Training
    • Management Training
    • Prevention Training
    • Ongoing Advocacy Training
    • Therapist Core Training
    • Working With Incarcerated Survivors

If you want a certificate for a WCSAP Course:

make sure that you sign up for the WCSAP Course, NOT for a sub-Module of the course!

The system will grant you a certificate for the entire course.

If you sign up for a sub-Module, it will not grant you a certificate for the entire course ! ! !

How to sign up for a Course

  1. Go to the Catalogue
  2. Then, in the left-hand sidebar, click on "All Trainings (6)"
    • Note: If you get there by a different route, it may be "WCSAP Course (6)"
  3. In the body, click on the "Learn More" button below the training you are interested in
  4. In the resulting page, click on the "Subscribe" button below the training

If you want a certificate for a single learning Module:

  • In this system, a "Module" is a short learning experience and "Modules" are combined to make a longer "Course"
    • Both "Modules" and "Courses" are "Trainings"

You may want to receive a certificate for 1, 1.5, 2 hours of annual training.

Do NOT sign up for a "Course".

Instead, navigate to the learning module that you would like to study. Sign up for that.

The system will grant you a certificate for the single learning module.

How to sign up for a Module

  1. Go to the Catalogue
  2. Then, in the left-hand sidebar, click on any "Module" button, for example "Prevention Module (5)"
  3. In the body, click on the "Learn More" button below the "Module" you are interested in
  4. In the resulting page, click on the "Subscribe to Training" button

Once you sign up for a sub-Module of a Course,
you will no longer be able to download the Course Certificate

The system will refuse to give you a WCSAP Course Certificate.

If this happens to you, you can resolve the issue by

  1. opening a new account with a different email address
  2. having the Web Team delete your account, so you can reopen the account with the same email address

Using the Courses

Once logged in, participants will see a list of offered courses. Each course contains an overall description of the course and a set of training modules or lessons. The goals and objectives are specified for each lesson, followed by training content, activities, and a brief quiz. If a course is described as meeting requirements, the requirements are those of the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) of Washington State.

Pace Yourself

These courses are self-paced and do not involve interaction with an instructor or other course participants. To obtain the greatest benefit from this learning experience, participants will want to allow ample time to complete the activities and assignments in a thorough and thoughtful manner.

Your Feedback

We hope you have a great training experience. We are always interested in your feedback, so please fill out the training evaluations at the end of each course.
